Newborn and children photography with Olympus OM-D

Recently this little 4 month old cutie visited me at home. Besides he is a really handsome little one his mother had chosen a great outfit that totally fitted into my style of shooting and the colors I love.

What is so great about this little Olympus mirrorless cameras like the OM-D is that they are not drawing too much attention by the kids. So it is easy to connect to them what for me is the most important part when it comes to taking pictures of toddlers. Things like face detection and the vari-angle monitor are helping to get the shots you want.

In terms of lighting I just had a window to my left. As I teach my students always: Keep it simple and use more brain than gear.

I used the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and the Panasonic 25 mm “Panaleica” for this shot.
